Kathie Gossett
Doctor Kathie Gossett came to me with the goal of creating a personal logo that captured her essence. As a digital humanist and a scholar of medieval literature, she requested a modernization of her initials, as well as the symbol of the ancient triskelion. The challenge for this project came from the need to balance the modern with the medieval imagery.
brief
Dr. Kathie Gossett approached this project with a desire for a personal mark, something emblematic, something enduring. A digital humanist and scholar of medieval literature, her work lives at the crossroads of past and future. She requested a logo that reimagines her initials through a contemporary lens, while subtly incorporating the ancient triskelion: a symbol of motion, of continuity, of spiraling time.
This design had to speak two languages fluently. One of digital clarity, and one of medieval echo. The challenge lies not in contrast, but in confluence: to blend the sharpness of modern typography with the deep rhythm of ancient symbols. The result should feel timeless, intelligent, and quietly powerful.
